Here is what you can expect during your first visit with us
1. A warm welcome
When you arrive, our reception team will greet you and help you get registered. We will ask you to complete a couple of quick questionnaires about your general health and your dental history.
While you wait, please make yourself at home. We offer:

2. Getting to know you
Your dentist and dental nurse will come to collect you from reception. Before we even look at your teeth, we want to get to know you so we can tailor our care to your exact needs. We will review your medical history and discuss any current dental concerns you have, your brushing routine, and lifestyle factors (like smoking or alcohol use) that can impact your oral health.
3. A thorough, comfortable assessment
Next, we will gently recline your chair to a comfortable, flat position to begin your examination. Your comfort is our priority, and we go at your pace.
Our comprehensive check includes:
- A total wellness screen: We check your jaw joints, glands, and the soft tissues of your mouth. This includes a routine oral cancer screening, allowing us to ensure everything is healthy.
- A detailed tooth check: We examine each tooth carefully for decay, wear, or cracks, using specialised eye magnification and bright illumination to catch the finest details.
- Advanced visuals: We use a high-resolution, intra-oral camera to take pictures of your teeth, so you can see exactly what we see.
- A gentle gum check: Using a specialised, round-ended probe, we gently check for any signs of gum disease to ensure the foundations of your teeth stay strong.
4. Digital X-Rays
To complete our assessment, we usually take a series of digital X-rays to check the areas between and beneath your teeth. Because our system is fully digital, these images appear instantly on our screen for us to look at together.
5. Co-creating your care plan
Once the exam is complete, we will discuss our findings. We believe in collaborative care, so we will show you your X-rays and photos on the screen and discuss your options, including the benefits, risks, and fees for each.
